Right now there are hundreds of Scots stuck in foreign countries, desperate to get home before the world’s air space shuts down. I have constituents in New Zealand, Australia, Nepal, South Africa and Mexico, who feel helpless and totally abandoned by the UK.

Every day this week my staff and I have spent hours on the phone to the Foreign Office trying to get people home…but to no avail.

Time is fast running out and the Foreign Secretary must immediately put emergency plans in place and organise repatriation flights.

Other countries have done it and its time the UK Government the same.

It’s time for the UK Government to step up and bring our people home.
