I am extremely pleased that finally, under growing pressure and following my letter to their Chief Executive on April 6th, that Airbnb have shut down their site, saying that from today, and for the duration of this crisis, it will not be possible to book a stay through Airbnb for anywhere in the UK.

Letter from Brendan O’Hara to Airbnb Chief Executive requesting a stop to bookings during lock-down.

I now urge other holiday-home companies, if they haven’t already done so, to follow suit and I appeal once again to anyone considering coming to Argyll & Bute or the Highlands and Islands for a holiday or a day trip over Easter…don’t!

Please, follow the guidelines, stay home, stay safe,  protect each other and of course protect our National Health Service.
