Autumn Newsletter 2022

There has been a lot happening over the past few weeks and I am glad to finally be getting back to Parliament after a short break during recess and due to the sad passing of the Queen. In that time, the new Government has announced a ‘mini’ budget of a seismic scale – and which has led to uncertainty over pensions and mortgages.

I am sure many are growing increasingly worried about the cost-of-living crisis and our household energy bills, and I have included information on what support is available to those in Argyll & Bute in my newsletter, and on what I have been doing in Parliament to support those who are going to be affected.

I’ve also highlighted some of the things I’ve been up to in the constituency of late. Amongst others, it was great to get out to Islay and meet with many businesses and community organisations there and hear of the wonderful work they are doing. I also very much enjoyed offering my continued support to Dunoon Grammar in their bid to earn the title of ‘World’s Best School’.

As well as following my facebook and twitter feeds you can also keep up to date with my work on the website www.theyworkforyou.co.uk This site is also a handy resource to find out how I have voted and how other MPs may have voted as well. As always, if you think I can be of assistance to you please get in touch, email: brendan.ohara.mp@parliament.uk or call the office on 01436670587. As government guidance on working at home remains in place, the constituency office will remain closed until we are given notice that it is safe to re-open our doors.

Best wishes,

Brendan
